Merry Christmas!

So this week we had our Christmas party at the Mission Home and got to go to the temple right after! Perfect. It was the best present I could ask for being out here, and I think a lot of the missionaries would agree to that. It's so fun to be out on a mission during Christmas time. It's perfect, all we are told to do on Christmas is to find opportunities to serve and visit people and  you know usually that is what we do everyday, but on Christmas it's a whole different feel! We are talking about Christ and the Gift we have been given by him coming on the earth to be the example that he is. And the sacrifice he made when he suffered for us and was later crucified. We share this Mormon message>>> http://www.mormonchannel.org/video/mormon-messages?v=91116181400. And then read Alma 7:10-12.
the fact is it is such a blessing that we have been Jesus Christ, our Savior. For it to be made possible to be clean from our sins so we can stand in front our our heavenly Father once again and we judged. the greatest part about these verses is that Christ because of his sacrifice has suffered all our pains, weaknesses, sickness, shortcoming. Anything that is unfair about his life, HE has been through with us. He knows us so perfectly, and because of this he knows how to take care of us through the hard times in our life. What a great gift, I love what He has done for us and his willingness to do it. I am so thankful for God and giving his Son to do this. It's the best gift, and I hope we can all remember that especially during this time of the year.
Something really cool happened last week when we went to go visit a former investigator. she was having a really rough time taking care of her mom who has dementia for the last ten years and she was getting real down and stuff, it's hard to be a care taker! She doesn't really know if there is a God or won't for certain say that there is one, but while we were talking we challenged her to pray for a week, that's it! And testified that it would give her strength and allow her to feel God's love for her. She wasn't really sure about it, but I promised her that it would make a difference and that she should just do it, for one week! She said she would. We come back a week later, she opens up the door and she just starts going off about it and how much it helped her. She said it made her feel so much happier, and better everyday. She started to talk to her friends and family about what she was doing and how she could see that there is a God. As she explained this it made me so happy! I could tell that she started to gain hope. there is a true power that comes with prayer, it may seem weird at first. but the more you do it the more you realize that you aren't talking to yourself and that someone is there.
I love that God knows us so perfectly and know what we need to grow. The more we put forward the more we get out of it. I am so thankful to be out here and have the opportunity to see the Lord hand work through out everyone's

life. He is there and you'll see it if you're looking!
I love you! And I hope you have a great Christmas!!!

Baby, it's cold outside

Oh goodness, it is only one degree, just kidding it got down to 4 though! haha I know it's colder in Utah so I am very thankful, don't worry ;) this week has been going good! It has snowed some, or been windy the one day I put on all my pairs of tights and leggings on it was 35 degrees, don't worry it was a heat wave of course that would be happening to me ahaha it's fine I loved it, it felt like summer again!

We had exchanges this week so I got to go to the City!!! I love and missed the city, so it was fun to see that again. I am back in good ole Buffalo Grove and loving every second of it. The cold isn't getting to me like I thought it would so that is such a blessing. I think its so cool to be out here and see how the things in my life I have done or the challenges I have learned from have only helped me magnify my calling as being a missionary it's a true testimony to know that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". the Lord will give us things on this earth that are going to make us struggle, so we have come closer to God. But also because of that if we use the Lord to get through those tough time, we will find a way out and be able to help someone else who may be going through something similar. We have all be called here to help each other return to live with our Father in heaven.

We stopped by this investigator we were teaching last transfer and the coolest thing was he was home and let us in! his dad is baptized, but not active and doesn't believe in the book of Mormon, so when we started to teach his son he was all for it and then his dad and brother started to talk to him about it and he then cancelled on us. But this time when we went to go see him he let us in told us of his concerns, which was like "why do you need to book of Mormon, is the Bible not good enough?" The best part it is that the Book of Mormon is evidence that God continually talks to his children on this earth, he doesn't stop and never will. He wants his children to come back to live with him, so the best way they can is if they can be receiving guidance from the one and only>>> God. Well this is how he does it, he calls Prophets! And they tell us exactly what God needs us to know, but here is an even cooler part. Joseph Smith is a great example of receiving personal revelation. When he knelt in the grove and offered up a prayer, God answered it. The same goes for us, if we ask in faith, believing that we will receive He will give it to us. Because our success matter to Him.

I love this Gospel, it's true, its Jesus Christ's. And we know for ourselves that it is. Because that's the greatest blessing of the Restored Gospel, is that we can receive Revelation!
I love you all and I hope that you have an amazing week and fun Holiday!

Transfer time and speaking assignments

Hello!
What a week it has been!!! First off we got our transfer call Saturday and we are both staying together here in the same area! It's way exciting and we are so thankful we get to stay together we have so much fun, but get a lot done of course. Oh and our area got split in half so we have a smaller portion to work with and we lost some investigators to the elders that are coming in, but we just will have more time to find more investigators so its way exciting and time to get moving! I can just feel something is around the corner!

We had zone conference this week and it was so good! President Woodbury is such an inspired man and knows what he needs to teach us so we can be better missionaries. We all had to prepare a talk on a conference talk from October 2013 conference and then the zone leaders said that two of us would be getting called on to give it... well they said they prayed about it and one of the choices was me:) haha oh goodness, first off why is speaking in public so nerve racking I feel like I am gonna shake on to the ground when ever I get in front of someone, but I love it. So that went good! Always thankful for an opportunity to bear my testimony, because it only strengthens it!

So we went to this sweet old man in our ward who lives in a nursing home. Oh my I forgot how it was to be a CNA but going back there I was filled with great emotions remembering the ones I used to work with and the love I had for them. but we came to this mans room and I just can't tell you how much love I had for him! Why do I love old people, I always have and I always will there is just a soft spot in my heart for them. Anyways! We were talking to him and then he asked us to give him a blessing, well we couldn't so he said okay then I will just bless you. haha he was saying a prayer before we could leave and I will tell you, the words that came out of his mouth went straight to my heart and were from a higher divinity of what I needed to hear at that time. The Lord speaks through the humble hearted. It reminded me that as servants of God we all do His work. We all have the power to lift one another, our job is to serve one another and remind them that there is a loving God that watches over us. Don't underestimate the power you have to make someones day. If you are given a thought to do good, do not question it. Every good thing comes from God!

Oh and then I was called to give another talk on Sunday so I gave two talks this week :) And I think it's getting better, my body doesn't shake as much... haha but who knows maybe I just got lucky that time. We had our whole ward mission group give talks on Sunday and it was really cool! This ward is so amazing I am so blessed to be in this area at this time. I can't believe how much I have learned and changed in this short time. But I can tell you this is full surety. That this is God's church, The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been Restored and we have evidence of this by the Book of Mormon. If you have questions I would invite you to pray and read this book to have the truth shown to you has you ponder what you come across.
I love you! I miss you! And I hope you have a wonderful week!

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!
I know it's late, but I am pretty sure I didn't say it last time... haha sorry about that. But it seems like it was a good one! We went over to a ward members house for thanksgiving and they invited a couple friends who weren't members, then some couples in the ward. Haha so luckily we got some potential investigators and information while we were celebrating. They seem like way awesome people! We got to leave a spiritual thought as well that was abut the ten lepers and the one coming back to Jesus thanking him for healing him. I love that story and how important it is to thank our Heavenly Father for all that he has given us, because it will only build our relationship with him and our faith in him. When the leper comes back to thank him Jesus replies ans says "go forth, thy faith had made thee whole." The more we continue to give thanks to our Lord the strong we will build our faith and we will also find more blessings in our life.

As we continued with our week, things were a little slow. We did a lot of stop bys and trying to find members, but it was fun me and Sister McClimans really know how to make the best of both worlds and laugh. We went to an area this week to look for a former investigator and while we came to his house he ended up not being there, luckily! his son was though. thank goodness! We started to talk to him and tell him what we do and who we are and then we asked if he would be interested in learning more, and his friend comes up behind him and says sure! they were two 15 year olds that were awesome we introduced the book of Mormon and then they said we could meet with them later that night to teach them. We came back and taught them the Restoration and they set up another appointment! It was great. They were both so willing to learn more and open to hear what we had to say. I think it is so important to always keep in mine that the Lord is with you as you go and try to send forth his word. Whether you are a missionary or a member, if you are wanting to find an opportunity to share the gospel, and keep that in mind as you go through out your day the Lord will put people in your paths to do so, and loosen your tongue to speak to them!

I am so thankful for this time to be out here and sharing the gospel everyday, so that people can find the same happiness I have through out my life. The Lord will always strengthen you through your weaknesses as you go and look for him in your life by praying and reading the scriptures.

I love you all and I hope you have a great week! Miss you!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Another week has come and gone! I can't believe how fast everything is flying by, this transfer is already almost gone! But we still have time here I love it in this area. It's great.
Something really cool I noticed this week was as we went to people houses that were either people we tracted into, former investigators or people we are teaching. Is that when these people have a relationship with God- they pray to him regularly and really think about him. When we go into their house and teach them are talk about things that are going on in their lives. That we are able to feel the spirit so much stronger. I love to point that out to them, because I think most people don't really realize that for themselves. When we take the time to get to know our Heavenly Father he will be able to discern our needs a lot better and help us along our journey. We went to this lady's house that use to be taught by missionaries she told us that she had come to the decision that she will not be "getting dunked" haha we asked her more about it and than Sister McClimans asked well have you prayed to know what you should do about baptism. And she was like "actually... no I haven't. I just came up with the answer myself. I never thought of praying to know what I should do."
We bore testimony of the power of prayer and that he does lead and guide us when we ask for guidance with a sincere heart. The spirit was strong and we could tell that her heart was softened to have another look at what being baptized and taking the Lords name upon herself could really do for her.
I love the Spirit and how much it teaches us without any words. God talks to us through the still small voice of the spirit to know the truth of things. When we are willing to listen we will hear.
I love this church, and I love this Gospel. I have had people that are against it tell me it is wrong and people that are for it  and tell me it is right. When you let your wall come down and simply ask to be lead, He is will not lead you astray. He will show you the way and bring you to a better place. Better than you could ever do on your own. I know this is Christ church, this is the way and the only way to eternal life and happiness.

Love, Sister Tincher

High Winds

Another week of intense missionary work. You know the biggest thing I love about being out here is that I get to talk with so many different people and see how their lives are and what has made them, them. It's so cute but a very humbling experience as well. The more I do this missionary thing the more I see how becoming like Christ is essential in our journey back to our father.
We visited this lady this week who is a less active in our ward. She was been going through so many hard things lately it's so crazy and I feel so bad for her She said that her faith disappears when times like this happen and I couldn't help but feel her pain and feel the need for my companion and I to stress the importance to never turn away from the Lord when trial and adversities come into our lives, but to turn out and grab His and that is so willingly stretching out for our grasp. We need to immerse ourselves in the Lord's unconditional loves. It will always be there never faded. you will never be forgotten in His eyes. For some reason that is hard for us to grasp but it is true and the book is blue. President Henry B. Eyring gives a top notch talk about this- called Mountains to Climb (look up the mormon message)http://www.mormonchannel.org/video/mormon-messages. I think he says is perfectly "If we have faith in Jesus Christ, the hardest as well as the easiest times in life can be a blessing." With God anything is possible. I loved in Mosiah 24:14 it says  "And I will also ease the aburdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as bwitnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their cafflictions." It's cool how everything works when you put your faith to work.

This week we had an amazing investigator and it was so great the first lesson we had we committed him to baptism! Oh it was awesome he was so excited to learn more and it made so much sense to him. You could tell he was ready to learn more. When we scheduled another lesson with him he invited us to come by his house that same night so Sis. McClimans and I stopped by right before our dinner appointment and he had his brother there and his church leader. I was fallen out of my seat I couldn't even fathom what was going on. Right before we left we wanted to leave a spiritual thought with them so we pulled our a scripture. Introduced them to the book of Mormon and then they just started to ask us more questions. It was really cool and a good experience we got their information and everything was like sooo good then a couple days later when it was time to have our next lesson with this guy he never showed up... then we waited the next day, rescheduled.. then we get this text and hour before our lesson and he says this isn't for me. ohhhh this was so devastating, no, no, no this can't be happening. That's all that I was thinking. Like you don't know what your are turning away from! Stop in your tracks! but no it's okay really it is everything will work out the way the Lord needs it to and I trust that he will find it someday, somehow. So that was a little devastating of the week. but everything else it going really well I feel like things are coming along and we are going to find more people to teach.

There was a high speed storm yesterday I almost got picked up and blown around the church parking lot. But it's fine, I didn't. So usually when I am being overreacting about wind and saying there is tornado up in here... well when I was saying it this time it was for real... There was really a tornado going on. It didn't get close enough to us but of my it was so windy. I am loving being a missionary it's great and such a blessing to be out here.  I hope you all have a great week. God bless!

Keep on, Keepin on--- Sister Tincher :)

We are all missionaries.

This week just flew by, but oh my goodness the more I go on the more I am able to see how the Lord really effects our lives everyday. I can not believe how amazing it is to be right in the middle of this work. We recieved a refferal last week from the head quarters about a woman who really wanted to learn more we met with her on friday just recently and WOW it was amazing her and her husband are so absolutely and completely ready for the gospel to be in their lives. The way they lived before really prepared them for what being given as they are taught. I feel like I am in the middle or something like that I don't even know how to describe it. The investigators who are so ready to learn and want to know more and seeing the Lord answering their prayers and work with them; then us as missionaries just really show them where and how to get the answers. It's been such a blessing to see this happen right before my eyes.

We have had a lot of teaching experiences and chances to meet more people that are willing to learn more ans see what the "Mormons" are about. We run into a lot of Catholics here and it's a nice area so, so many people are already blessed by the Lord and it's hard for them to see the change and the blessing of what the Restored Gospel has instore for them. Our memebers here in the ward are really awesome they are all ready to help and want to know how to help. I love when I go to a members house and we ask them how their missionary work is going and they are like well I a gave out a book of Mormon the other day or I really want to talk to someone but I don't know how to do it. It like blows me away for some reason haha I don't know why but it's so grea that we as members and missionaries have the blessing and knowledge of this and are willing to share it with others to bring them the same happiness that we have found from it. I look back on my life and see how much I took it for granted, but the more my focus is on it the more I see how much it can really change a persons life if they let it.

When we were at stake conference one of the speakers were telling us about a missionary experience they had while on the plane. They were sitting by a man who was from Germany and as they were talking religion came up and he was mormon. The german man was like I have seen your missionaries an my country and why do you think it's okay for you guys to go around and tell everyone to join your church. The thing the speaker said was great he said that he didn't know the answer but as he spoke it wasn't his own words. He related the story to Saul and how once he was manifested of the truth he had no choice but to go out and tell everyone about it. and that is the same for us as members and missionaries we have had our own witness and realized the amazingness of this gospel and the Lord and feel the need to tell people about it. Perfect. that's all I can say.

I think one of my favorite things teaching is about prayers and that we have the opportunity and privledge to talk to our Heavenly father because he loves us so much and wants us to talk to him. He wants to hear from you and know how things are going, even though he is all knowing. He still wants you to tell him and ask him and thank him for the things that happen on a day to day basis. I know that our father lives and answers our prayers.

I hope all is well at home and that you are enjoying the Holiday season! I can't wait to hear all about this next week, I love and miss you with all my heart.
Love, Sister Tincher :)

Buffalo Grove

I can't even believe what has happened this week. but I am so grateful for every experience. I hope I can share what I have been wanting to without my mind going elsewhere and forgetting stuff, because that's just what happens to me when I sit down at the computer.

So when transfers came around last Saturday President called and said I would be moving up north to Gurnee; well Monday night President called back and said he felt very strongly that I needed to be in a different area and with a companion who was actually in my district at the MTC. Now I am in the suburbs of Buffalo Grove! Haha let me tell you it is a lot different than the city but it is so amazing I have loved every second of it. The Lord knew exactly what needed to happen! My  new companion is Sister McClimans and we have both been out for 7 weeks in the field we are both training each other, but we both are hard workers and want to get things done in this area I am so excited I can't even tell you!

It was the best week of my mission. On Thursday, with this day we had a Zone conference with Elder Martino and his wife including our mission President and his wife. Let me tell you right now... I was spiritually fed it was flowing over the rim and I felt like I couldn't contain everything (but I did). We learned the major importance of member missionary work, in Alma 10 you will find the story of Alma and Amulek. Amulek was a less active that through the lessons Alma taught to his family was re-activated and than he became the greatest tool for finding and converting others to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It all starts with us the more we bring others into our homes to learn the lessons and be taught by the missionaries we will grow spiritually as well as the people coming into our homes. they will be more willing to listen to the message of the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ because they can see through a friend how it really does influence a individual. The whole meeting blew me away and I just want you to know that I know this church is true. No matter what happens I know that His gospel is back on the earth, and it's time for others to know as well.

When we left that meeting we headed to our dinner appointment. We go in and it was real fun because it was Halloween and everything was you know festive central and I am loving it because I just got back from a great meeting and I am really feelin on top and it's holiday so I am just loving life. A whole bunch of people are in and out and because I am the new missionary members are greeting me and asking for my name and this one man comes us to me and says "Oh I know some Tinchers they introduced me family to the Church!"
I was like, "Oh where are they from?"
He said "Indiana"
"Oh that's where the Tinchers are from really, who were they names?"
"Ingrid and Bob Tincher"
(Ok, ok I just about fainted right then and there. but instead I gasped and it was so loud and so embarrassing.)
me- "WHAT! that is my grandma and grandpa!"
So it turns out that we was baptized with my uncle Jay Tincher and that he knows dad and Uncle Ken and everything than I was like I have always wanted to hear there conversion story, so he told me what he knew because His grandpa was apart of the study group that Grandma brought the Book of Mormon she found to. I am telling you right now I am still fainting over this. So he called up his sister and I talked to her a little bit. But The Lord knows what we need, and I needed it. Funny thing is, is I wrote you to Send me the conversion story of Grandma Ingrid last week haha but somebody told it to me instead! I still want it, but so cool!

Okay cool story #2 Then on Friday it was late but not late enough to go home so we were tracting at like 8:30 before we could head home. We are driving and I am really feeling it (the spirit) and we come to a stop sign and Sister McClimans is like okay what way and she started turning left and I was like NO, right. So we turn right and are going, going and she was like okay lets do this street. We get out the first house we knock on this man answers and he like you can come back tomorrow and we were like can we have a number or something and he was like I don't remember it. So honestly I was like he doesn't want to talk to us and my sister M was like so excited and we we go back the next day and right as we are knocking he pulls us into his garage and I am thinking on my this is so embarrassing he is probably going to like shut the garage and not come out or back out and try to run us over. But no this didn't happen he got out and he was in a hurry but we gave him a Book of Mormon and we said he would give us a call and he sounded like promising. I was still hesitant we you know I will take it! So now (yesterday) We are invited to go talk with two families and listen to a fireside after it was done they all made their mission plans on how to invite and have missionaries in their homes to teach their friends lesson, because they are so awesome! But one of the mothers was talking about inviting her friend she has been talking to , she says the name and we are like wait, is her husband so and so.... and it was. I was fainting, falling over and dying. This man we ran into has been reading some stuff about Mormonism because she gave them a book or something, but she has been like trying to introduce them to the church. You tell me that is not just a coincidence, because it aint. And I was humbled.

SO this week has been full of humbling and powerful experiences even more that I have wrote. I feel like Nephi when we is writing in the scriptures and is like well there is more I have to say but I can't fit it on this brass plate page. Trust me when I say... Pray for missionary experiences, pray for the courage to face them and to recognize when he places you in a situation. the Lord will always be glad to do so, people out their need this Gospel. I have found more happiness in my life as I have lived it than anythings else. that's why I am out here today, because more people deserve this kind of joy.

I love you all and I pray that everything is going well for you and that you find opportunities to share the gospel.
until next week!
Love, Sister Tincher :)

October 22 letter

I am so glad to here that everything is going good! It seems like you are all having fun and enjoying this great time of the year. This week was really slow and cold, a lot of our investigators cancelled on us or we couldn't get a hold of them, but it was all good in the end.
We got to teach one lady and it was such a blessing I could see an improvement and that we took another step of understanding and knowing coming to a greater knowledge that this is the true church.
Another wonderful thing is that we got to talk to our investigator that was praying to know if she should be baptized it was so cool to see as we called her to see how everything is going and the decision she is trying to make is that, Yes she wants to be baptized! It is such an amazing feeling to find a wonderful and will person that wasn't to be baptized and come closer to Christ. Since my farewell talk was about the Holy ghost I have been really noticing how amazing this gift is and the more I read the Book of Mormon I realize the huge deal that Christ makes of it. It's one of the greatest gifts he has given us. When he came to the Americas he wanted them to have the Holy Ghost so bad! And that is just how this investigator is she wants the Holy Ghost so bad and she wants to come closer to our father. It is such a blessing to be able to be here and see how the gospel of Jesus Christ really changes people when they want to follow God's will. He never will make us doing anything but he does give us the agency to choose from the choices presented. And when we choose righteously we only are given blessings and find true happiness.

At our Zone conference we had Tuesday we have been told that we are the 9th mission in the world who will be able to use Facebook! So I will be in charge of Facebook and my blog for now on haha and I will be able to get on it everyday for an hour to talk to our investigators to teach lessons and set appointments its so awesome and such a great way to get the great word out! I am very excited to see how great this will work out. If we do this right that means more people will we able to use Facebook while on their missions!

Love,

Sister Tincher

Getting transferred

Hello!! It's so good to hear from you. And guess what! I am getting transferred! (So don't send that package to my apartment because I won't be there!) I am going to Gurnee IL and I am pretty excited to see how that will end up going, but I am also nervous to leave Hyde Park I love it here and everyone I have been teaching and meeting on the street, bus, ward and everywhere else. But I know the Lord needs me somewhere else so that is where I will be headed!!
This week was pretty good we finally got to meet with some of the amazing investigators we have and we had exchanges so I took my sister Training leader around the area for a day hahaha I need to work on finding my way around this place, but it was good lots of fun. I love being able to be a missionary and set goal every day to help bring the Restored Gospel to the people of Chicago IL it's such a privilege to know personally that God lives and His son Jesus Christ has brought back their Gospel for the people on this earth to fully use.

This week we got to teach the Plan of Salvation to one of our investigators,(who is top notch). It's probably one of my favorite lessons to teach, because the fact that our families can live together forever and that we can return to our Father who truly loves us and wants us more than anything to live with him again. I think about being out here and my family back at home and how much I miss them and how sweet the day will be when I get to see them all again. The same will go for when I can return to my Father in Heaven and see him and be welcomed home. The more and more I teach the gospel every day the clearer the picture is for me that what we do here in the life is what we are preparing for how we want to live the next.

And not matter how hard our trials get they will be 100% easier with the Lords help, and I say that with all certainty.

But I do love my job right now, it's hard because it's so cold, but once the summer time rolls around I am sure I will love it even more!
I hope everything is going good, thank you for all those letters you are sending it just makes my life so much better. I will write you back today though for sure!!!

Love,

Sister Tincher

Week 5

On a typical day we get up at 6:30 and I pray do some sort of exercise for thirty minutes (I miss the gym) haha and then at 7 we start our personal study! I just finished the Book of Mormon for the second time in my life and so now I am going to read the doctrine and covenants which is good. then I get ready for the day and eat and at 9 we start companion study this is where we plan what we will teach our investigators and the members we visit for the day. And since I am training right now we have an extra hour to doing training our of a booklet they gave us which mostly consists of watch segments out of the District and talking about them haha. when we are all done with that we head out for the day and we going to appointments, visit less actives, or other people and have lunch  sometime and then we have dinner usually with a member and we have to be back at 9 in our apartments. it's sometimes hard to fill up time, but you know me I love to be busy so when we get down time that is when I start to get a little crazy.

My favorite part about being out here is talking to the nice people and then right after they are like I knew there was a reason I came out today or you just made my day and sometimes they say whoo I just got the chills talking to you. Haha it gives me the drive to be brave and continue to talk to people.

So working on week 5 in the mission field! It's flying by it seems like. But this week went really fast and turned out good. We had our first training meeting where all the new missionaries and their trainers got together we talked about Christ-like attributes to have and how important it is to have they while you are working with others. The one I think I am trying the hardest is to have charity for everyone. You know I love people, but when I go to an appointment and the investigator didn't like read or go to church like they said, I get a little disappointing so I am thinking okay how can I help this person see that it is for their benefit and not just because I am asking them to do it. I love thinking of charity and how everything a bout it is Christ. Everything he did revolved around charity and helping out somebody. he never once thought about himself no matter how hard his circumstances got he always wanted the best for somebody else. I need to be like that. haha it will come though, slowly but surely!

After the training meeting was when we did the exchange and I when with the Hermana and headed up the Buffalo Grove/ Waukegan. I thought is was so strange because all the stores had Spanish names like what I learned in spanish class, I was like oh my this is read my teacher wasn't lying. literally all the stores are called milk store, bread store, pastry store, fish store they don't just have like Walmart store, Target store haha anyways thats just a side note I thought was cool, but I loved it. We went to a ward member's house for dinner and they only spake spanish it seemed like the longest appointment of my life, because I could only understand like 10% of what they were talking about, so I just smiled and laughed when they did. I did talk though! and bore my testimony in spainsh and asked them a question! haha it was cool. Now I am back in my area thought and loving every second!

We taught Janet this week a couple times and oh my goooodness! I Sister Emily Tincher asked her to be baptized, I almost fainted while saying the words, but it happened. She said how many months do I have to wait? and I was thinking... months!? Girl no, we don't even have to wait days! ;) haha but she said she wants to learn more and pray about it was well. So I pray that everything will go the Lords will and she will find absolute happiness in her decision to be baptized. It so interesting to see how much people change once they understand what God has to offer through His Gospel and how much happiness and joy you and experience when you follow his plan. I love that I have the opportunity to see that change occur. I love working with people.

I hope everything is going great! I love and miss you and I can not wait to hear from you next week. You guys are in my prayers!

Love, Sister Tincher

October 7, 2013

This week flew by! but it was very good. It hasn't snowed here yet! my companion is like really wanting it to because she is from California, and I am like no you don't want it to it's way to cold for that. Me and my companion are getting along we are really trying to getting good at contacting before the next transfer but it's a struggle for us, we will get the hang of it though.
For conference we went to the church building and watch it there, haha I don't think I have every sat down for every session without getting up before! haha I learned so much and took a lot of notes. Ones of the things that stuck out to me was about having spiritual strength and how it's likened to physical strength and enduring. The more we exercise our spiritual strength the easier the race of this life will be and more capable we will be able to handle the obstacles a long the race with more endurance. The Lord wants us to be strong and like a coach they have us work out, do hard core strength training so when the game comes we will be able to play with with out fatigue. The same works for the Lord and His game. Every challenge and trail is like a strength training session at the gym, while you are doing it you are hating life but when you are done you feel so much better and stronger.
Oh! so some exciting news!! there is a sister in our mission who is really struggling with her mission and she is speaking spanish. President called me and Sister Tuifua and was like, I am impressed to have an exchange for a day with sister Tincher and this other sister. So this Tuesday and Wednesday I am going to be a spanish speaking sister!!!! Ah!! I have secretly been practicing me spanish ha.... it's a secret. I am so excited like, whaaat? yeah very exciting. So I will tell you in my next letter how it went!
This week we met with Janet again actually like three times haha we finally got her a French Book of Mormon and she just like loves it, she keeps saying I love this book, I love it. She is so humble and loves God and finds so much peace in what we have been able to shw her in this short time. I can't even believe what a blessing it is to be able to teach such a ready person. Haha I wish I could speak french to her so bad so I could explain to her in my out words what this gospel has done for me, It is true and He is real. The spirit will do that for me though, thank goodness for that!
Some real cool things have happened this week and I know that when you have exact obedience miracles happen. When ever something little, but cool happens me and sister Tuifua are like Miracle! (we have a little jingle tune to it). so one this week was when we were going to look for some people on out list of Find out's we were walked to the bus stop and there was a man there he asked about us and who we are and we talked and then the bus came and we got on. When we got on the bus we got off that the street we thought we needed to be on and as we are walking we figure out the apartment is like across the town but on the same street so we talk all the way there and the person didn't want to talk to us and all this stuff happened and I was thinking, "Something good is going to come out of this I can' feel it" so after much walking and waiting for the bus we finally getting to where we need to be to get to our next appointment as we are walking to the bus stop we ran into the same guy, like okay sorry but that was cool. He says hey what where is your church at I want to come to it. So the Lord works in mysterious ways, like confusing sisters on what roads to go and buses to take just to have perfect timing to meet someone he cares about. It's real.
I hope everything is going great at home and I wish the best of luck to you. thank you for everything you do for me, it means so much and I am so thankful. I love you and God be with you till we meet again. :)

Keep on Keepin on!

Week 2

Okay, whoo! What a week. It's my second week out here and I feel like it should probably been like half of my mission! I have been getting a little better at contacting people on the the street and the bus. Everyone here loves God though so if you can get them talking about God you have got a good start! Probably one of my favorite things is baring my testimony that our God is a Love god and that we are all his children and he just wants us to succeed in this life and be happy, and we can achieve this happiness through the words of the Lord found in The Book of Mormon!! haha. Once these sweet people understand that they are golden!
We have been teaching a woman named Janet she speak french and very little English haha I think of Tim when every I meet with her. We taught her the first lesson and I know if she got much out of it, but we are going to try and find her a Book of Mormon in French to read and then hopefully she will see what we were talking about and get a little more interested. She has a strong belief in God and is so sweet. We have two other investigators the speak two different kind of Chinese so we have been going slow with them because first of all we can't really understand them and second they can't really understand us. I wish so bad I could like speak to them in their native tongue so they could understand what is being offered to them, but the Lord loves his children and wants them so prosper in this life so we had found members in this ward that can talk to them and translate during church and help us teach them. What a blessing!
this week we went to a bus because we were looking for some Less active's house and the weirdest thing was went we get on this bus no one was on it at all... which is weird for around here. The Bus driver started to talk to us and the Topic of religion came up and he just went off on how he doesn't believe in religion that is doesn't need to be and all this stuff. I just bore my testimony and talked to him about how I know this this church is true and you know what he said after that? I am too young to know that I am just telling people things other people told me to tell someone else. The coolest things was after that terribly long bus ride of being attacked. I realized my foundation has been built upon the rock, and was able to stand steadfast and immovable, because I know with out a doubt that this church is true, that God the Father lives and his beloved son died for our sins so we can return with him again. Life happens, it is hard, but if you are going to be standing on the fence, Satan had already gotten a hold of you, so choose your side. No one is too young to know they are a child of God.
We went to the relief society Broadcast Saturday and it was mixed with the spanish branch so I got to use my espanol with las Hermanas and members of the ward it was so fun to see everyone and kind of catch up. The best part was being able to hear the words of the prophet and the relief society presidency. I can't wait to continue with my mission and tell you all more. I hope everything goes well this week. I love you all and miss you all very very much. Let me know if I can do anything for ya'll. I would love to here from everyone.

Maybe God be with you.

Love, Sister Tincher!

First Week

Hello Family!!
I am so happy to hear that everything is going good back it home. It sounds like a blast and I kind of miss it... but I get we can't really dwell on things we can't change! haha
So this week was crazy and seemed so so long! I don't have my address yet so I can't give it to you... and I left my camera at the apartment so... I can't send any pictures this week... haha I have so many for you though! Ok so We woke up really year to head the airport Monday and I was so nervous and stunned that this was actually happening. It never seems real... haha it STILL doesn't feel real that I am here. When we got off the plane the missionary training sisters met us and the Mission president with he wife. The first thing they said was are you ready to pass out your first book of Mormon on the train!? um... no? haha that's what I was thinking. The city here is really cool! Lots of different people and haha lets just say I stick out like a soar thumb. We went to the Bean and walked around the city and than had some deep dish pizza... you know I never thought I could like a pizza that much but that thing was top notch! The next day I met my companion who is Sister Tui'fua she is Tongan and from California haha and has only been out 6 weeks... to say the least we are learning together! My area is Hyde Park we literally are like 2 blocks from Obama's house, I always think of dad when we pass it. Oh did you hear the Chicago is #1 for gun violence in America? It's okay we are protected by the best person out there. We live in the city though, south Chicago---it's the real deal! I love it, it's like my dreams; everything I have dreamed of, the people are a little hard to talk to we ride the bus everywhere and walk everywhere. All the houses are like these huge skyscrapers or tall apartment buildings that you have to push a button and ask for the person to let you in, than they will buzz you in and you take an elevator up to their room... yeah I have been riding elevators all this week, I am so scared every time especially when they are like barley moving up and then they get stuck, but it's fine- it fine I can't fret.
We have been teaching a couple different people here every time they hear I am from Utah they said "Girl, we gotta break you in!" I am thinking... I have more soul than you realize, but I don't say it I get too scared.. When ever I come to these peoples houses or get on the bus little kids are like, "I like your hair" or "can I play with your hair?" haha It's definitely something I need to get used to. I love visiting these people though and teaching them the gospel I can't fathom living with out the knowledge of this Church. Do you realize that because the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored  and the priesthood power has been brought back to the people the heavens are open and we are able to have the power of God with in out homes? yeah it's crazy, but it's straight up the truth. I love having the responsibility of helping people see that.
Oh we have two baptisms coming up one tomorrow and another sometime in the next couple weeks. They are Tommy and Amarie they are 9 and 13 they are kids of Misty who was baptized right before I got here. They call me O.G Tinch (Original Gangster) I did not come up with this myself, they just see they real me! They are a loud and fun family they tell me they will look out for me. . But I love it, and am going to continue to grow. I love you all and miss you so much, I hope everything is going great and I can't wait to hear from you in a week!
God be with you till me meet again! :)
