Merry Christmas!

So this week we had our Christmas party at the Mission Home and got to go to the temple right after! Perfect. It was the best present I could ask for being out here, and I think a lot of the missionaries would agree to that. It's so fun to be out on a mission during Christmas time. It's perfect, all we are told to do on Christmas is to find opportunities to serve and visit people and  you know usually that is what we do everyday, but on Christmas it's a whole different feel! We are talking about Christ and the Gift we have been given by him coming on the earth to be the example that he is. And the sacrifice he made when he suffered for us and was later crucified. We share this Mormon message>>> http://www.mormonchannel.org/video/mormon-messages?v=91116181400. And then read Alma 7:10-12.
the fact is it is such a blessing that we have been Jesus Christ, our Savior. For it to be made possible to be clean from our sins so we can stand in front our our heavenly Father once again and we judged. the greatest part about these verses is that Christ because of his sacrifice has suffered all our pains, weaknesses, sickness, shortcoming. Anything that is unfair about his life, HE has been through with us. He knows us so perfectly, and because of this he knows how to take care of us through the hard times in our life. What a great gift, I love what He has done for us and his willingness to do it. I am so thankful for God and giving his Son to do this. It's the best gift, and I hope we can all remember that especially during this time of the year.
Something really cool happened last week when we went to go visit a former investigator. she was having a really rough time taking care of her mom who has dementia for the last ten years and she was getting real down and stuff, it's hard to be a care taker! She doesn't really know if there is a God or won't for certain say that there is one, but while we were talking we challenged her to pray for a week, that's it! And testified that it would give her strength and allow her to feel God's love for her. She wasn't really sure about it, but I promised her that it would make a difference and that she should just do it, for one week! She said she would. We come back a week later, she opens up the door and she just starts going off about it and how much it helped her. She said it made her feel so much happier, and better everyday. She started to talk to her friends and family about what she was doing and how she could see that there is a God. As she explained this it made me so happy! I could tell that she started to gain hope. there is a true power that comes with prayer, it may seem weird at first. but the more you do it the more you realize that you aren't talking to yourself and that someone is there.
I love that God knows us so perfectly and know what we need to grow. The more we put forward the more we get out of it. I am so thankful to be out here and have the opportunity to see the Lord hand work through out everyone's

life. He is there and you'll see it if you're looking!
I love you! And I hope you have a great Christmas!!!

Baby, it's cold outside

Oh goodness, it is only one degree, just kidding it got down to 4 though! haha I know it's colder in Utah so I am very thankful, don't worry ;) this week has been going good! It has snowed some, or been windy the one day I put on all my pairs of tights and leggings on it was 35 degrees, don't worry it was a heat wave of course that would be happening to me ahaha it's fine I loved it, it felt like summer again!

We had exchanges this week so I got to go to the City!!! I love and missed the city, so it was fun to see that again. I am back in good ole Buffalo Grove and loving every second of it. The cold isn't getting to me like I thought it would so that is such a blessing. I think its so cool to be out here and see how the things in my life I have done or the challenges I have learned from have only helped me magnify my calling as being a missionary it's a true testimony to know that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". the Lord will give us things on this earth that are going to make us struggle, so we have come closer to God. But also because of that if we use the Lord to get through those tough time, we will find a way out and be able to help someone else who may be going through something similar. We have all be called here to help each other return to live with our Father in heaven.

We stopped by this investigator we were teaching last transfer and the coolest thing was he was home and let us in! his dad is baptized, but not active and doesn't believe in the book of Mormon, so when we started to teach his son he was all for it and then his dad and brother started to talk to him about it and he then cancelled on us. But this time when we went to go see him he let us in told us of his concerns, which was like "why do you need to book of Mormon, is the Bible not good enough?" The best part it is that the Book of Mormon is evidence that God continually talks to his children on this earth, he doesn't stop and never will. He wants his children to come back to live with him, so the best way they can is if they can be receiving guidance from the one and only>>> God. Well this is how he does it, he calls Prophets! And they tell us exactly what God needs us to know, but here is an even cooler part. Joseph Smith is a great example of receiving personal revelation. When he knelt in the grove and offered up a prayer, God answered it. The same goes for us, if we ask in faith, believing that we will receive He will give it to us. Because our success matter to Him.

I love this Gospel, it's true, its Jesus Christ's. And we know for ourselves that it is. Because that's the greatest blessing of the Restored Gospel, is that we can receive Revelation!
I love you all and I hope that you have an amazing week and fun Holiday!

Transfer time and speaking assignments

Hello!
What a week it has been!!! First off we got our transfer call Saturday and we are both staying together here in the same area! It's way exciting and we are so thankful we get to stay together we have so much fun, but get a lot done of course. Oh and our area got split in half so we have a smaller portion to work with and we lost some investigators to the elders that are coming in, but we just will have more time to find more investigators so its way exciting and time to get moving! I can just feel something is around the corner!

We had zone conference this week and it was so good! President Woodbury is such an inspired man and knows what he needs to teach us so we can be better missionaries. We all had to prepare a talk on a conference talk from October 2013 conference and then the zone leaders said that two of us would be getting called on to give it... well they said they prayed about it and one of the choices was me:) haha oh goodness, first off why is speaking in public so nerve racking I feel like I am gonna shake on to the ground when ever I get in front of someone, but I love it. So that went good! Always thankful for an opportunity to bear my testimony, because it only strengthens it!

So we went to this sweet old man in our ward who lives in a nursing home. Oh my I forgot how it was to be a CNA but going back there I was filled with great emotions remembering the ones I used to work with and the love I had for them. but we came to this mans room and I just can't tell you how much love I had for him! Why do I love old people, I always have and I always will there is just a soft spot in my heart for them. Anyways! We were talking to him and then he asked us to give him a blessing, well we couldn't so he said okay then I will just bless you. haha he was saying a prayer before we could leave and I will tell you, the words that came out of his mouth went straight to my heart and were from a higher divinity of what I needed to hear at that time. The Lord speaks through the humble hearted. It reminded me that as servants of God we all do His work. We all have the power to lift one another, our job is to serve one another and remind them that there is a loving God that watches over us. Don't underestimate the power you have to make someones day. If you are given a thought to do good, do not question it. Every good thing comes from God!

Oh and then I was called to give another talk on Sunday so I gave two talks this week :) And I think it's getting better, my body doesn't shake as much... haha but who knows maybe I just got lucky that time. We had our whole ward mission group give talks on Sunday and it was really cool! This ward is so amazing I am so blessed to be in this area at this time. I can't believe how much I have learned and changed in this short time. But I can tell you this is full surety. That this is God's church, The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been Restored and we have evidence of this by the Book of Mormon. If you have questions I would invite you to pray and read this book to have the truth shown to you has you ponder what you come across.
I love you! I miss you! And I hope you have a wonderful week!

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!
I know it's late, but I am pretty sure I didn't say it last time... haha sorry about that. But it seems like it was a good one! We went over to a ward members house for thanksgiving and they invited a couple friends who weren't members, then some couples in the ward. Haha so luckily we got some potential investigators and information while we were celebrating. They seem like way awesome people! We got to leave a spiritual thought as well that was abut the ten lepers and the one coming back to Jesus thanking him for healing him. I love that story and how important it is to thank our Heavenly Father for all that he has given us, because it will only build our relationship with him and our faith in him. When the leper comes back to thank him Jesus replies ans says "go forth, thy faith had made thee whole." The more we continue to give thanks to our Lord the strong we will build our faith and we will also find more blessings in our life.

As we continued with our week, things were a little slow. We did a lot of stop bys and trying to find members, but it was fun me and Sister McClimans really know how to make the best of both worlds and laugh. We went to an area this week to look for a former investigator and while we came to his house he ended up not being there, luckily! his son was though. thank goodness! We started to talk to him and tell him what we do and who we are and then we asked if he would be interested in learning more, and his friend comes up behind him and says sure! they were two 15 year olds that were awesome we introduced the book of Mormon and then they said we could meet with them later that night to teach them. We came back and taught them the Restoration and they set up another appointment! It was great. They were both so willing to learn more and open to hear what we had to say. I think it is so important to always keep in mine that the Lord is with you as you go and try to send forth his word. Whether you are a missionary or a member, if you are wanting to find an opportunity to share the gospel, and keep that in mind as you go through out your day the Lord will put people in your paths to do so, and loosen your tongue to speak to them!

I am so thankful for this time to be out here and sharing the gospel everyday, so that people can find the same happiness I have through out my life. The Lord will always strengthen you through your weaknesses as you go and look for him in your life by praying and reading the scriptures.

I love you all and I hope you have a great week! Miss you!
