Week 2

Okay, whoo! What a week. It's my second week out here and I feel like it should probably been like half of my mission! I have been getting a little better at contacting people on the the street and the bus. Everyone here loves God though so if you can get them talking about God you have got a good start! Probably one of my favorite things is baring my testimony that our God is a Love god and that we are all his children and he just wants us to succeed in this life and be happy, and we can achieve this happiness through the words of the Lord found in The Book of Mormon!! haha. Once these sweet people understand that they are golden!
We have been teaching a woman named Janet she speak french and very little English haha I think of Tim when every I meet with her. We taught her the first lesson and I know if she got much out of it, but we are going to try and find her a Book of Mormon in French to read and then hopefully she will see what we were talking about and get a little more interested. She has a strong belief in God and is so sweet. We have two other investigators the speak two different kind of Chinese so we have been going slow with them because first of all we can't really understand them and second they can't really understand us. I wish so bad I could like speak to them in their native tongue so they could understand what is being offered to them, but the Lord loves his children and wants them so prosper in this life so we had found members in this ward that can talk to them and translate during church and help us teach them. What a blessing!
this week we went to a bus because we were looking for some Less active's house and the weirdest thing was went we get on this bus no one was on it at all... which is weird for around here. The Bus driver started to talk to us and the Topic of religion came up and he just went off on how he doesn't believe in religion that is doesn't need to be and all this stuff. I just bore my testimony and talked to him about how I know this this church is true and you know what he said after that? I am too young to know that I am just telling people things other people told me to tell someone else. The coolest things was after that terribly long bus ride of being attacked. I realized my foundation has been built upon the rock, and was able to stand steadfast and immovable, because I know with out a doubt that this church is true, that God the Father lives and his beloved son died for our sins so we can return with him again. Life happens, it is hard, but if you are going to be standing on the fence, Satan had already gotten a hold of you, so choose your side. No one is too young to know they are a child of God.
We went to the relief society Broadcast Saturday and it was mixed with the spanish branch so I got to use my espanol with las Hermanas and members of the ward it was so fun to see everyone and kind of catch up. The best part was being able to hear the words of the prophet and the relief society presidency. I can't wait to continue with my mission and tell you all more. I hope everything goes well this week. I love you all and miss you all very very much. Let me know if I can do anything for ya'll. I would love to here from everyone.

Maybe God be with you.

Love, Sister Tincher!

  1. Sister Tincher! You are so wonderful. I could see you, bearing your sweet testimony on the bus, to someone who couldn't understand if he wanted. One of the hardest things to find on the mission is a heart that is pure before God and really wants to know God's will and the Truth of the Gospel. I love that our prayers are being answered and you are being blessed with safety and happiness and are being guarded by angels every step you take.
    much love from your uncle

  2. Hi Sister Tincher! I'm so proud of you. You are such a special missionary, and the people in Chicago are so lucky you have you. We pray for you every day and night, and sometimes in between. I feed the Sister missionaries in my ward, and think about my sweet niece and the good example she might be for a family with young kids. I love having them over because they bring the spirit where ever they go. Keep up the amazing strength you have. The church is true! It is a blessing to all it touches (even if that's only for a short moment). Sending all my love and a big hug, Jeri
